Exciting news on the way! Stay tuned for our 2023 campaign, watch The Team winning (hopefully!), both in Greece and in Europe.
In Greece, we plan participating with LIZZA – our classic 5.5mIR class boat – in the 2023 Spetses Classic Yacht Regatta (SCYR) in late June and the Okeanida Regatta in October. Team EXLence has been participating with LIZZA at the SCYR since 2019, as from when we acquired the boat, ranking 3rd in 2019, 1st in 2021 and 2nd in 2022. As for Okeanida, we have had 1st podium position both in the 2021 and the 2022 edition.
In Europe, we will race aboard MELX III – our modern 5.5mIR class boat – acquired in 2020 and never raced since then due to COVID. This year we plan to kick off in early June with the Robbe & Berking Sterling Cup at Glücksburg, Germany, then in late August at the German Open, Tutzing, Germany, to be followed in late September by the Scandinavian Gold Cup and the World Championship, at Porto Cervo, Sardinia, while the finale of the season will be in mid-October at Lake Thun, Switzerland.
As every year, the boats’ preparation is supervised by our team manager, Panagiotis Kampouridis. Panagiotis, born 1983, has been a member of the Greek National Sailing Team for almost 20 years, a World Champion in 420s and World Champion ORCi in 2010 and silver medalist in 2011, 4 times Greek Champion in 470s, silver and bronze medalist in World Cup events in Miami, Medeblink, Kiel, and Toulon, runner up on the 470s World Ranking List of 2012 and participant in the 470s at the London Summer Olympics (2012).
